Maria Goregina Silva, 81, of Lowell died Thursday July 5, 2018 at Northwood Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Lowell after a long illness.
She was predeceased by her husband Manuel A. Silva who died Nov. 2, 2004.
Born in Faial. Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Maria DaSilva.
Maria came to the USA in 1974. She worked at Carrol Shoe in Lowell and Altotronics of Burlington. She had also worked at Cambridge Tool of Billerica.
Maria enjoyed crocheting, sewing and cooking.
She was a communicant of St. Rita’s Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Correia of Lowell; a son, Joe Silva of Tampa, FL; a brother, Jose Faria of Portugal; two sisters, Ana Costa and Lucinda Luis both of Tewksbury. Ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Manuel Silva in 1957, her daughter in-law Kara Silva and brother, Manuel Faria.
Visitation will be Thursday July 12, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. Chelmsford, MA. Guestbook at www.dolanfuneralhome.com
