Mary Patricia (Pat) Shea, 90, formerly of Ludlow, MA, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Bridges by Epoch in Westford, MA.
Born in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (O’Neil) Brennan. She graduated from Trinity College, VT with a BS in Chemistry in 1950. Pat was a longtime substitute teacher for Ludlow Public Schools. She retired from the Monarch Life Ins. Co. of Springfield, MA after a 20 year management career.
She was an active communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Ludlow, MA. Pat greatly enjoyed the group classes and community at the YMCA. She enjoyed family gatherings, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and a good ice cream cone.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Kehew and her husband Kenneth of Portsmouth, RI, Anne-Marie Mulligan and her husband Michael of Westford, MA, and Martha DuroShea and her wife Colleen of Belchertown, MA; her grandchildren, Susan Pierce and her husband Robert of Chicopee, Michael Shea of Rock Hill, SC, Katherine Westrom and her husband Joshua of Tiverton, RI, Colleen Kehew of Milford, MA, Elizabeth Lineweaver and her wife Jamie of Bedford, MA, and Daniel Mulligan of Charleston, SC; and several great grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her sister, Nancy Horton of Essex Junction, VT, and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Shea Jr.; her children J. Michael Shea and Margaret Shea; her brother James Brennan; and her granddaughter Lisa Shea.
At her request all funeral services were private with burial in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow, MA.
