Roma Sambath Houth, Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend

Roma Sambath Houth, 80, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 25, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the devoted husband for over 43 years of Sambo Ban, who survives him.

Born in Prasat baalang, Kampong Thom, Cambodia, January 1, 1943 son of the late Mul Oul and Phan Thiv. He was a part of the Cambodian army during the Vietnam War then immigrated to the United States; Brooklyn, NY in 1981 and settled in Lowell, MA in 1983.

After years of being in the United States, he studied to become a U.S. citizen and gained citizenship in May of 2008.

Roma was a highly regarded, devout Buddhist at Wat Khmer Samaki Santikaram in Chelmsford, MA. He loved spending time with family specifically grandchildren, Boston sports especially the Celtics and Patriots, practicing prayer/meditating, gardening, taking walks and watching boxing or Animal Planet.

Roma was a man of little words but when spoken had immense wisdom to share. Many recall his warmth, kindness and gentle nature.

Besides his wife, Roma is survived by three sons; Ngarun Houth of Lowell, Tony Houth of Lowell, Rudy Houth and his wife Nary Pich of Lowell and two daughters; Channy Houth of Lowell and Uly Houth and her husband Dominic Milinazzo of Westford; eleven grandchildren, one brother Huy and many nieces and nephews all of Cambodia. Roma was predeceased by two brothers, Ein and Hut of Cambodia.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation to be held on Sunday April 30, 2023 at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME Chelmsford, MA from 12:30PM to 2:30PM followed by traditional services at WAT KHMER SAMAKI SANTIKARAM North Chelmsford, MA 01863.

Funeral procession will commence on Monday May 1, 2023 from WAT KHMER SAMAKI SANTIKARAM at 8AM to MERRIMACK CREMATORY Merrimack, NH 03054 then back to WAT KHMER SAMAKI SANTIKARAM.
