Sambo Chhoum of Lowell, MA

Sambo Chhoum, 88, of Lowell, MA passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the residence at Glory Buddhist Temple, Lowell, MA.

Born in Battambang, Cambodia, he was the son of the late Tout Chhoum and Khut Iem.

Sambo moved to the United States from Cambodia in 1994.

In 2000 he co-founded Glory Buddhist Temple of Lowell, MA. He served as a monk for the temple for over 20 years.

He is survived by his three sons; Ethan Chhoum of Portland, ME, Richhart Kong of Sanford, ME, Reaksmey Kong of Dracut, MA, his three daughters; Samboun Kong of Sanford, ME, Sambath Kong of CA, Rina Kong of Sanford, ME, his brother Chhit Chhoum of Canada, and his four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Sang Chhoum.
