Samraan Saan of Lowell, MA

On June 23rd, Samraan Saan, 96, took her final breath surrounded by her loving family.  The sun rose and the world welcomed Samraan on August 25, 1925, a day the world became a little brighter. Samraan lived a full and warm life, filled with joy from her late husband, Boonsri Lar, with 8 children, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed for her strong will, inspiration, and tender, loving heart.

Samraan is survived by her sons; Bunsak La and his wife Sumaly La, Johnsen Laa and his wife Mao Sok, Benson La and his wife Theresa La, and daughter, Wanthong Sree. She was predeceased by one brother and one sister.

Born in Battambang, Cambodia, she came to the United States in February of 1982. Samraan became a US Citizen on May 11, 2005. She was a dedicated member of a Buddhist temple. She loved playing with jigsaw puzzles, sewing, and cooking delicious Cambodian dishes and desserts for her family. She was a very strong, inspirational, and caring person. She is beloved by her family.
