Symeuang Phongsavad of Lowell, MA

Symeuang Phongsavad, 85, of Lowell, MA died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Willow Manor in Lowell.

He was married to Khamsone Sarasith with whom he would have celebrated their 63^nd wedding anniversary on February 22, 1959.

Born on May 8, 1936 in Thakhek, Laos, he was the son of the late Lee and Boun Phongsavad of Laos. He was a highly educated individual who spoke multiple languages he even served as a college professor in Laos.

He was a Captain in the Laotian military. Symeuang saw much conflict throughout his life, but after his time in service he was blessed with the opportunity to come over to America where he immigrated in 1991.

He was an extremely hard worker and spent 15 years as an employee of US Button of Putnam, CT where he eventually retired.

One of Symeuang’s most proud moments was becoming a U.S. Citizen.

He was a member of West Buddha Bhavana Temple of Westford, MA.

He enjoyed playing cards, billiards, and watching football. His favorite team was the New England Patriots.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Saysoulit Phongsavad, daughter, Visamay Souriyamath, three grandchildren Sean Phongsavad, Tum Tum Souriyamath, and Tamara Phongsavad, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sons Saypasong Phongsavad, Saypashit Phongsavad, and Xaysanit Phongsavad and his grandson BJ Phongsavad.

Visitation on Tuesday, December 21 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD.
