Amanda Jane (Guthrie) Daigle, 43, of Groton, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, September16, 2023 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Amanda was born in Lowell, MA to John and Deborah (Krawczyk) Guthrie.  She was the light of their lives, and an amazingly loving and true daughter.

In 2007, Amanda married the love of her life, her husband, John Daigle.  They celebrated their sixteenth wedding anniversary last month on August 11th.  John and Amanda truly epitomized “…in sickness and in health.”  Their devotion to each other was unparalleled.

Amanda graduated from Bishop Guertin High School in 1998.  She attended Quinnipiac University graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.  She continued her education at Merrimack College earning a Master’s Degree in Education.

Most recently, Amanda worked as fourth grade teacher in the Acton-Boxborough school system.  She was previously employed in the Westford Public Schools at the Norman E. Day School.  She touched many children’s lives with her kind, calm manner, and she displayed dedication to each and every child who entered her classroom.

Amanda’s greatest joy were her three cherished children: Molly “Moll”, Chloe “Chlo-Chlo”, and Matthew “Matty.” A more devoted mother could not be found.  Amanda was the Mom who was always there for every event, cheering on and supporting her children through each and every endeavor.  Her beauty- both inside and out- lives on in each of them.

Amanda had a smile that could light up a room, and an uninhibited, hearty laugh to match.  When Amanda laughed, the world laughed with her.

Amanda loved all things outdoors.  Skiing in New Hampshire with her family, sunny days in the ocean at the family home in York Beach, and nature walks and excursions with John and the kids.  Yoga and music were also near and dear to her heart, and provided great comfort to her as she fought so valiantly these past two years.

Besides her husband, parents, and children, she is survived by: her two brothers- Christopher Guthrie and Ryan Guthrie and his wife, Christi, all of Dracut; her mother and father-in-law Charles and Louise Daigle of Dracut; and her sisters-in-law Elizabeth Nutile and her husband Alfred of Lowell, and Katherine Middlemiss and her husband Scott, of Dracut.  She was adored by her eight nieces and nephews: Caroline, Samuel, Joseph, Lily, Mack, Michael, Jack, and Grace. Additionally, she will be deeply missed by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Amanda was predeceased by her lifelong best friend, Jamie Quealey Gumb.

    Dear Daigle and Guthrie families:
Since I learned of Amanda’s recent passing I’ve been in a state of disbelief and sadness. We first met when we worked together at the Norman E. Day School in Westford. Amanda was everything you’d want in a teacher: always respectful of every student she encountered, genuine colleague who willingly supported her associates, phenomenal role model for children, and an excellent communicator with parents/guardians. She was a gifted educator, loving her role as a teacher of young children.
The last three times I spoke to Amanda were at functions that centered around her family….a school fine arts event, birthday party of son’s friend and a First Communion. It was obvious to me Amanda derived immense joy and pride, from being involved with her family.
I’ll never forget the impression and positive impact she provided so many people. Amanda has left our world a much better place than she found it!
My deepest sympathy to Amanda’a family and friends.

    Sincerely,
Kevin & Eva Regan and Family
