Arthur L. Kleynen, 74, better known to his friends and family as “Artie”, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at The Oxford Rehabilitation in Haverhill, Mass. Artie fought a long and courageous fight with Cancer.

Artie was born in Winchester, Mass and then resided many years in Chelmsford, Mass. He was the beloved husband of the late Dale Witham whom they shared over 40 years.

Artie was the son of the late Kenneth Kleynen, Sr. and Theresa Lienhard.

He graduated from Chelmsford High School, Class of 1967.  He then went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his death, he worked for the Town of Chelmsford D.P.W. and then for his brother Ken from Kleynen Plumbing of Chelmsford.

He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Chelmsford.

Artie was a free soul who spent his life camping with his wife. He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots and especially Nascar. But he was most proud of being a Veteran.

Arthur is survived by his son Scott Kleynen of Lowell, Mass; his siblings Kenneth Kleynen and his wife Barbara of Ayer, Mass; Robert (Bobby) Kleynen of Westford, Mass; Keith Kleynen of Ayer, Mass; and his sister Bonnie Greeno and her husband Kevin of Townsend, MA; one grandchild, several aunts, nieces and nephews.

Artie and I grew up together. As young teens there was hardly a weekend when we didn’t sleep over each others house. A lot of great memories. My condolences to Theresa, Kenny, Bobbie, Keith, Bonnie and family.
