Bahhhbra. I will miss your light. Always positive and always able to make me laugh. I’ll never forget when we went bowling and I dropped money and hated myself for losing it and you gave it to me, and told me it would all be ok. It was such a small, simple thing but it made me able to see the good in the day, as you always always always did. This is just a small example but one that will stick with me forever. You also gave me the most glorious gift in your 3 daughters who have never falen short of expressing their ability to be as amazing, bright, loving and hilarious as you. Without the Gerardi women, the world would be a much less positive place. Your legacy is beautiful and incredible in them. I love you. I love your daughters. And I will never forget and will always appreciate the opportunity to know all of you. Every memory is smooth as buttah. Rest in peace, Bahhbra. And thank you again for everything you’ve done to be a light in my life. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

On one of the first times I met Barbara, she told me she was “ kind of big, you know what I am sayin?”. Well that turned out to be the truest things anyone has ever told me. She was big, bigger than life, and she was my hero, and I will miss her.
    God bless

My heart is broken. Barbara was such a wonderful and funny lady. I worked with her for several years in Small Sort at UPS. She had such a personality….so funny and outgoing. She was definitely one of a kind. She used to sing this song “Loving you is easy cause your beautiful” by Phoebe Snow at the top of her lungs and I used to laugh so hard. She also did this great Tarzan yodel yell. I laugh just thinking of it. I remember she had such a love for her daughters. I pray God’s comfort for her daughters and husband at this time. Love, Peggy Mahar

Barbara was such a wonderful neighbor! I am going to miss sitting on the wall in front of my house shooting the …. with her about family, and life in general.
What a love of animals she had !!! I remember one time when I was going down Route 40 near Ace Hardware and I saw a turtle on the side of the road. There was a car riding right up behind me so I turned into the Ace Hardware parking lot, a little fast, and thats where I saw Barbara coming out of the store. She’s like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whats the problem? I told her I saw a turtle on Route 40 that looked like it was in trouble……. I did not even get to finish my sentence, she dropped her bag and that woman ran full steam, I mean she sprinted, out to Route 40, down the road to the guard rail, practically stopping all traffic in both directions. The poor turtle did not make it and had obviously passed well before I had seen it, but she took the time to gently place it out of further harms way. When I finally caught up to her, she had tears in her eyes and said she wished she could have done more. Thats the type of woman she was. Just a big hearted, super funny, caring and strong woman !!
I will miss hearing you cruising down the road on that purple Harley with a huge smile on your face because you loved the freedom of riding.

I wish comfort be given to your girls and Mark in such a difficult time. She loved you all immensely.

    Take care, and with love

Lady Liberty herself! I will miss my second MAMA. Her smile and laugh will forever be remembered. She produced three beautiful daughters who’s love and light helped mold me into the woman I am today. She brought so much joy to myself and my family’s life. I will always remember you in your PJ’s with a michelobe light in one hand and a sweet German Shepard in the other! Love thing #4.

Dear Sarah, Carla, Stasia, Mark and her dear brothers,
I’m so sorry to learn of Barbara’s passing. I had been hoping & praying she was recovering. We were next door neighbors for several years when the girls were very young. In fact, I remember when Stasia was born – I was so excited for the family, I ran over & tied a pink balloon on the fence to welcome them home. Barbara was such a bright light! Always a smile, always something funny to say. Treasure your memories – she is with you. Just think of her, she’ll be there! She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed, of that I am certain.

I am so very sad that I won’t see Barbara’s smile or hear her infectious laugh anymore. I am however, so very grateful for all of the memories I have of our time together as roommates at Westfield State, and the good times we’ve had together since then. Those memories, her voice, and laugh are so clear in my head. The more I talk and think about her, the more I laugh, which is so typical of anytime I spent with her. Thank you Barbara, for all of the years of friendship and laughter. Thank you for continuing to make me smile and laugh now. I am blessed to have had you in my life and I will miss you. Rest in peace my friend…

Much love, Carole (Messina) Gallo and Paul Gallo xo

It’s amazing how much you can know about a person without knowing them all that well personally. I met and spoke with Barbara only a handful of times and it is through Sara, Carla and Stacia that I learned of her wonderful spirit. These 3 little girls have grown to be amazing women. They work hard, they all have great and a little sick at times senses of humor, and truly know the meaning of friendship. This all came from their mom who knew how to live. I can’t imagine the hole in your lives right now, but I do know your mom would want you to fill it quickly with more living! Safe travels Barb on your new journey. The Angels are singing you in with their rendition of “GOD Bless America”, love to Stacia, Carla, and Sara, keep living and sharing mom’s legecy!

Mark, Sarah, Carla and Stasia. We are so sorry to hear that Barbara has passed. Babs and I worked together at UPS for many years and my wife and I went on a few rides together. She really was the best!…and one of the funniest people I have ever met. She always shot from the hip, and if you didn’t like it…Oh well. The first time I met her she was yelling at me because I pulled one of her cars off line…but soon after we became good friend. I spoke to her a few times this past year and not once did she lead me to believe that things were bad, she always seemed hopeful and led me to believe the same. We will miss you my friend…until we meet again…ride on.
