Barbara (Vaillancourt) Nichols of Tewksbury formerly of The Villages, FL, Lowell and Dracut died Monday, March 26, 2018 at Bayberry at Emerald in Tewksbury.
She was married to Earle W. Nichols, Jr. who died on November 15, 2012. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Frances Vaillancourt. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1952 and Bentley College in Boston, MA.
Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for Ronnie’s Steak House in Dracut retiring in 1997. She owned and operated Ken & Barbara’s Ballroom Dance Studio in Lowell.
Barbara enjoyed dancing, bowling, and gambling playing poker. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons F. Kenneth and his wife, Carmel Silva of Pelham, NH, L. Keith and his wife, Diane Silva of Ashland, NH and Earle W. and his wife, Laurie Nichols III of Haverhill; daughter, Barbara and her husband, Rick Salley of TN; sisters Elaine and her husband, Roy Rigsby of NH and Marilyn and her husband. Roger Lamoureaux of Plano, TX, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and several close family friends.
There are no visiting hours. A Private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME CHELMSFORD 978-251-4041.

Dear Nichols family, saddened to learn of the passing of Barbara. We had been neighbors at Cutters Way in Dracut, and shared many a happy time. I shall always remember those days with great fondness for this loving lady. I shall keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers as you pass through this difficult time.
