Betty Hall, 90, of Hudson, NH and formerly of Lowell, MA passed away on Monday May 9, 2022 after years of Vascular Dementia she acquired in her late 80’s.

Betty was Born in Jody, WV on March 10, 1932 to the late Louis and Iva (Johnson) Abshire. Her primary job was a mom and a homemaker tending to her 6 children and the love of her life Wallace Hall, whom she was married to for 31 years before he passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 1983.

Before getting ill, Betty enjoyed many years of bowling, line dancing with her daughter and granddaughters as well as sitting on the porch on her swing telling stories of days passed. She loved to talk about the days when she had her kids and grandkids running around her home all the time. Betty’s door was always open, and there was always a cup of coffee, a meal and country music in the background to sit and talk over for hours.

Betty and Wallace were blessed with 6 children, and they moved from Omar, WV to Lowell, MA in 1970 in order to provide a better life for them. She is survived and will be sorely missed by her children Diana Collette and her husband Andrew of Chelmsford, MA, Marcella Groulx of Hudson, who was not only her full-time care giver, but truly her best friend, Ricky Hall of Switzer, WV, Wendell Hall and his wife Elaine of Nashua, NH, Drema Lozeau of Lowell, MA and Trina Plourde and her husband Joseph, who was like a son to her,  of Hudson, NH whom she lived with for the past 24 years.

Left with a million memories are her grandchildren Shawn Hall, Matthew Collette, Jennifer Garneau and her husband Dennis, Stephen Sousa, James Hall, David Sousa, Gabrielle Hall, Ashlee Hall and Danielle Hall as well as her great grandchildren Tyler Collette, and Deven Somers. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews including Cheryl Schimank of Windham, NH whom Betty truly treasured and whom helped care for her over the last few years.

She was predeceased by her brother James Abshire and his wife Goldie, her beloved sister Thelma and her husband Dale Abraham, and her grandson Jason Hall.

Visiting hours Thursday May 12, 2022 from 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Friday at 9 A.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

I know her daughter Drema in my building.
    My condolences.

    Broke the Mold

You were made in God’s morning light,
He made you all day and into the night.

He used all his love and never did sway,
As he cast your mold cast of heavenly clay.

He let you grow, mature, and be true,
Until he knew your time was due.

Then he broke the mold when your making was done,
For he wanted you as the only one.

So give God the glory when you sing and you pray,
On every occasion in the night and the day.

When people ask where you do hide,
Others will say it’s with God you reside.
