Bruce C. Erickson, 71, of N. Chelmsford, died surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home. He was married to Patricia L. Erickson (Ignatowich) with whom he would have celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary on October 8, 2018.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Carl and Lillian Erickson. He graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1964. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. Before retiring from U.S. Filter as a maintenance worker in 2009, Bruce worked as an oil burner technician. He was a member of both the VFW Vinal Post 313 in N. Chelmsford and the Road Rebel Classic Car Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cruising around in his pick-up truck, having coffee with his buddies, and woodworking. He was also an avid New England sports fan. He was a master of jokes and pranks; his sense of humor will be missed by all. He was a proud, lifelong resident of N. Chelmsford.

Besides his wife, Bruce is survived by his son, Andrew and his wife, Amy Erickson (Sullivan) of Tewksbury, and by his daughters, Tina and her husband, Michael Clement of N. Chelmsford, Susan and her husband, Scott Zwicker of Leominster, and Sharon and her husband, Erik Hall of Pelham, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, William and Emily Erickson, Ryan and Stephen Clement, Sydney Zwicker, Ashley and Jessica “Marty” Hall, several nieces and nephews, and 5 grand-pups.

At Bruce’s request, his burial was private. Memorials may be made in his name to the Lowell General Cancer Center C/O Philanthropy Office, 295, Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854. Please join the family for a celebration of Bruce’s life on February 10th at the Westford Regency from 1-5 PM. Please RSVP to celebratebruceerickson@gmail.com if you can attend.

Pat, Tina, Amy and the rest of the family.

I am thinking of you all at this sad time. My memories of Bruce go back to the early 70’s when he worked with Lee and we would all party at Lee’s house. Bruce had the best sense of humor especially when he talked about all the things he did in his time off! He made everyone laugh.

He left this world too early but your special memories will always be with you.

Terry and I want to send our deepest sympathy to the entire Erickson family. We’re so sorry Bruce had to go through a time of serious illness. We both have happy memories of him and his wonderful sense of humor from early on. He was a treasure to sit in front of in our sixth grade classroom at Quessy, my first time in school with him. He has left a huge legacy of smiling remembrances. We wish you peace.

Our most sincerest condolences to you all. Bruce was an amazing man, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend. The world lost a great man. I know my mom, Kevin, and Bryan are with him and they’re having a party. We will all miss him terribly. He’s no longer in pain. Words fail me to express what a great man he was. We’re blessed to have known him and be loved by him. Dad has so many great memories and will miss his daily coffee chats with him. All our love.

I just found Bruce’s obit online. I was just looking for a location. Our family continues to get smaller and smaller. Nobody keeps in touch. I remember when he and Nancy would come to Wilmington for a week. We had so much fun. Love to all the family and wish we could all keep in touch. JOHN
