Carmen Lydia Rodriguez, 90, of Lowell, MA died Thursday August 30, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late Cruz Rodriguez, who died on November 12, 2008.
Born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Jose Zayas and Amalia (Rodriguez) Zayas.
She was raised in Puerto Rico and moved to New York in 1950. She raised her family in New York before moving to Lowell in 1995.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Lowell.
Carmen loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and boxing. She was baseball fanatic and a talented baseball and softball player. Carmen enjoyed going to “Home Away From Home” a senior center in Lowell.
She is survived by her sons, Jose, Edilberto, Manuel and Edwin Rodriguez; Daughters, Ada and Nancy Rodriguez, and Melissa Pettit. Her brothers Domingo, Rene, and Bienvenido Zayas. Her sister Catalina Zayas, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren she took a lot of pride of all these generation, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Jose, Heriberto, and Felix Luis Zayas.
Visiting hours Monday 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Tuesday at 10 from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11AM at St. Patrick Church in Lowell. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
