Charles “Chuck” Anthony DiDonato, 78, of Westford, MA died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital. Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Anthony R. and Milred (Miller) DiDonato. He lived his entire life in Westford where he graduated from Westford Academy with the class of 1961 and Lowell Technical Institute with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked for a few engineering companies until he started his own company, Synergy Engineering of North Andover. He was a generous communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Chuck was a member of the Danversport Yacht Club and the Nabnasset Lake Country Club. Beside his passion for golfing and boating, he was an avid Boston sports fan. He wintered in Florida near family, empathizing with those of us back home about the weather in New England. He was an avid reader but he most loved spending time with his granddaughter, Olivia DiDonato. She held her heart in his hand. Besides his granddaughter, he is survived by his son, Alex and his wife Pamela DiDonato of Acton, MA. Chuck visited with family often, relishing his time with his son’s family, where he  took a special interest in reading to Olivia and walking their dog, Daisy. He often said becoming a grandfather was one of the best days of his life. His siblings include his brother, Anthony DiDonato of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Joanne Ragwar and her husband James of Reading, MA. He was predeceased by his sister, Janice DiDonato Silva of Westford.  He remained very close to his former brother in law, David Silva of Seabrook, NH; sister in law Patricia DiDonato of Fairfax, VA; and his former wife Judy C. DeVincent of Maynard, MA.   He often took great pleasure visiting with his several nieces and nephews, meeting their children, and keeping up with their achievements. Edwin Aquilera of Lowell was like a son to him.

Visiting hours Monday 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral Tuesday at 10am from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford. Burial in St. Catherine Cemetery, Westford, MA. Because he was an ardent supporter of charities, memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041. Guestbook at www.dolanfuneralhome.com.
