Conceicao “Connie” (Coreira) DeNobrega of Lowell

Conceicao “Connie” (Coreira) DeNobrega, 94, of Lowell died Thursday, October 25, 2018, at D’Youville Senior Health Care Center in Lowell.

She was married to the late Joao Quintal, who died over sixty years ago.

Born in Canico, Madeira, Portugal on March 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa Nobrega.   Connie moved from Portugal to the United States and became a proud citizen.

Connie retired from Old Mother Hubbard Dog Food Factory of Lowell. She had previously worked for the Commodore Foods Company of Westford.

She was an active communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and the Holy Ghost Society. Connie was a member of the Portuguese Senior Center.

Connie was an avid embroider. She enjoyed traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her nephew, Claude Caires of Dracut; niece, Carol Karabatsos of Nashua, NH; sister-in-law, Fernanda Fernandes of Canico, Madeira, Portugal and many nieces and nephews in Madeira, England, Venezuela, and the US.

She was the sister of the late Jose Nobrega, Luis Nobrega, Maria Quintal, Josezinha Mata and Clara Caires.
