Cornelius Joseph O’Neill, 75, of Chelmsford, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell after a brief illness.
He was married to Georgine B. (Bird) O’Neill with whom he would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this September 7th.
Born in Boston, MA on August 2, 1940 the son of the late Cornelius and Margaret O’Neill. He was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School of Brighton with the class of 1958. He graduated with a Bachelors from Suffolk University with the class of 1966.
Cornelius worked as an accountant for many years before retiring from Honeywell of Lawrence, MA in 1990.
He was a former member of the Town of Chelmsford Finance Committee. Former scout leader for BSA Troop 75, Chelmsford.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey C. O’Neill and his partner, Claire Bagley of Somerville, MA; a daughter Julie O’Neill-Gage and her husband, Demian Gage of Concord, MA; three grandchildren, Lily, Madeline and Jackson Gage; a brother, John O’Neill and his wife, Carol of Framingham, MA; a sister, Evelyn Soldano and her husband, Matthew of Venice, FL; many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Morley.
Visiting hours Wednesday 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Cremation at Merrimack Crematory. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Burial West Chelmsford Cemetery, West Chelmsford, MA. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.
