David A. Molyneaux, 76, of Chelmsford, formerly of Melrose died Saturday July 15, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA
Born in Medford, MA on November 1, 1940, he was the son of the late David H. and Mary Molyneaux. He grew up in Medford and graduated Medford Vocational High School with the class of 1957.
During the Vietnam War he served in the US Army attaining the rank of Sergeant.
David worked for the US Postal Service as a Special Delivery in Boston Back Bay before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He was a member of the VFW Post 620 and the American Legion Post 0069 in Malden.
He is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Deborah and Timothy Hooton of Chelmsford, MA; three sons, David Molyneaux of Billerica, MA, Scott Molyneaux of Satellite Beach, FL and Brian Molyneaux of Nashua, NH; three brothers, Roy Molyneaux of Malden, MA, Gary Molyneaux and his wife, Janice of N. Reading, MA and Robert Molyneaux of Wilmington, MA; a sister, Jill Capodilupo and her husband, Ray of Hyannis, MA; ten grandchildren, Brendan Molyneaux, Ashley Hooton, Brett Hooton, Carly Molyneaux, Matthew Hooton, Kyle Molyneaux, Bradley Molyneaux, Tommy Molyneaux, Kylie Hooton and Sean Molyneaux.
He was predeceased by his former wife Joan Molyneaux who died March 18, 2001.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral Thursday at 9 AM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Deb, I know this has been a long road for you. To your kids and Tim and of course Molyneaux family; It is a tough road, but the Bennett family believes that your Dad / Grandpa is in a much better place. We enjoyed our conversations with him at your house when he visited regularly. A good man!
