David C. Gran, 70, of Lowell died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Town and Country Nursing Home in Lowell.
Born in Norwood, he was the son of the late Nils and Sarah Gran. He graduated from Norwood High School, Suffolk University with a BA in Political Science and from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
David retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where he worked as a social worker at the Solomon Mental Health Center of Lowell. David was ordained as a Minister in 1977 and was a Pastor at many churches while working full time at the Department of Mental Health
He was a member of the Congregational Church of Dracut.
David was an avid Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen Gran of Lowell and Peter Gran of Nashua, NH; daughters, Christine Gran of San Diego, CA and Karen Gran of Nashua, NH and grandson, Derek Carrion of Hudson, NH.

I am grateful for the time we had & will miss our conversations more than anything. You listened, you gave solid advice that was honest and hard to find in many people. And you never judged a soul nor were you ever critical. You were a God fearing and remorseful and you loved your children. I know you are at peace. Dad! I love you. I know you will look upon us & send your love every night. I know you are at peace & that gives me peace. My favorite memory of you is playing kickball in the backyard. We made the backyard a mess. Lol!! Also, I appreciate your ability to truly listen & be accepting of anything outside the norm without judgement. You definitely embodied the Aquarius side of you. I know you will always be there when I look up to the stars. I listened to the song, Centerfield, today on the radio & it made me smile. Much love!!! Be love & be free!!!
