Born in Lowell on December 6, 1969, he was the son of Edward (Dee) DeMarino Jr. and Joanne F. (Elliott) DeMarino of Westford.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, August 10, from 4PM to 8PM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Due to Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held with burial taking place in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Westford. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Cancer Society. Simply put, David was the best of the best. His smile was only outmatched by his heart! He was a dear friend to my sisters Leann, Coleen and I for decades and we are so sad to lose this gem of a human being. He fought bravely, but cancer got an unfair head start. We will miss him always but will smile every time we think of our many years together. Rest In Peace Mr. Incredible! Thanks for the laughs and sharing your goodness with us❤️❤️❤️

The first time I met David was my first full day of married life. We hired him to drive us to the airport for our honeymoon. We had a 6AM flight after getting home around midnight after our reception. We were bedraggled and sleep deprived and there was David – a big smile on his face and ever so gracious. What a great site he was. I will never forget his smile. What a great way to start a honeymoon that was so perfect in every way but it all started with him. God bless you David. Your always positive attitude followed you everywhere

I am shocked and saddened to hear of David’s untimely passing. It does not seem real at all. The last time I spoke to Dave we were talking about our Cadillac’s. He loved cars. He is a great guy and has been like a brother since he grew up with my big brother Kevin. Mr. D. Eddie, Dan, Donna & The DeMarino family you are all in my prayers. Your family has always been friends with the Collins family for generations. If there is anything at all I can do please let me know. I am hoping memories of Dave will keep you smiling. Only the good die young.

First met Big Dave through Drew years ago while I played football with Drew. Poker games were always a blast and Big Dave just never stopped smiling. He saw the good in everyone. Fast forward years ahead and I saw Big Dave working at CBK Towing, in the town I work for. How nice it was to get to chat with him about fishing and cars again. He always spoke highly of Drew and we would reminisce about football and poker back in the day.

    You’ll be missed Big Dave

      Big D, Big Dave, David,
      Pace essere con voi sempre….

30 years I’ve known you as my friend. As I stop and reflect, I could have been a better friend. You taught me what it is like to be a kind, thoughtful and generous person. You were always willing to help.

Dave was willing to and did give you the shirt off his back – literally. If he made a loaf of bread he was willing to share half…he was always that way. Dave’s passing truly proves the saying only the good die young, for Dave is/was and will always be known and remembered as one of the good guys.

I love you D like a brother from another mother…

A very sad day. Dave was one of the truly special human beings. Every time I saw him it started with a handshake that would keep squeezing harder and harder until my hand was going to break. Even with my hand getting crushed by his giant mitt he would have that big, shining smile that would illuminate the room, radiating joy to everyone in his orbit. Like a giant ship that leaves a trail atop the water, so too did Big Dave leave a trail of smiles in his wake. He will be sorely missed. Deepest condolences to the family.

David was one of the few 1st cousins in my family and I wish we had a closer relationship in our lives. It was my bad and my loss.
I can see he was loved by so many who commented in this guestbook.
I hope, pray and firmly believe that we will meet again in the kingdom of heaven where he is now at peace with the rest of many family members.
My love to him and the family always. Jack

Words cannot explain the love, laughs, sincerity that you brought to my family! As you always called it, your “Marshfield Family”.

You and your Polo towel, when you would come down to the beach. Erin’s first question, where’s the Polo towel? You never disappointed, always brought it for 20 years. Kicking Shawn’s butt in NFL Video games.

I aways added to the menu when you said you were on your way. Made sure we had your favorites. The feasts that we had watching our games…

We all have lost one of the most loving, caring, beautiful human beings that has ever walked the earth.

The impact you not only had on me, however my kids will always be so proud to have known you and to continue your kindness, wisdom, love that you taught them by being you ❤️.

You were one of a kind!

    Will Love you forever Skinny!!!

It’s been 2 1/2 weeks since you left us and I miss you so much pal. It’s just not the same without hearing “Yeah, what’s up chief?” or texting you for advice or just to say hello, or getting those random texts in which you found a good bargain of something you heard me mention I was looking to buy. This shouldn’t have happened to you!!! I’m grateful I got to be with you at the end and say goodbye and tell you how much your friendship meant to me but that conversation should NOT have had to happen for another 30 years. You made the world a much better place with you in it. Thanks for all the great fun and memories that I’ll never forget. R.I.P my friend.
