Deolinda “Rita” Belida of Chelmsford

Deolinda “Rita” (Pereira) Belida 93, of Chelmsford died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford.

She was the beautiful and devoted wife of the late Frank Belida who died in October of 2009.

Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Philomena Pereira.  She attended the Lowell School System.

During WWII Rita served as a welder in the Boston Naval Yard.

Rita was a retiree from Wang Laboratories. After her retirement, she enjoyed many years as a CNA caring for others.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of Chelmsford.

Rita is survived by her sons and their wives, Gary and Christine Belida of Mission Viejo, CA and Bruce and Gina Belida of Costa Mesa, CA; a daughter, JoAnn and her husband, Thomas Charles of Canandaigua, NY; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sons, Robert and David Belida. She was the sister of the late Constance Murray and Antonio Pereira.

The family would like to thank her nurse practitioner, Christine Florence, the staff at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, and the staff at Circle Home for their tireless and compassionate care they provided Rita. She will be missed by her many friends and family, including all of her caring friends at Delaney Terrace.

Visiting hours Mon. from 3 to 6 P.M. Funeral Tues. at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, followed by a funeral mass at 9A.M. at St. Mary Church in Chelmsford.
