Doris G. (Dumont) LaPorte of Dunstable, MA died surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Westford House in Westford.
She was married to the late Clifton O. LaPorte, Sr. who died on December 4, 2004.
Born in Dracut, she was the daughter of the late Elzear and Josephine Dumont. She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1941.
Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. In her early years, she worked in retail with the Robert Hall Clothing Store of North Chelmsford.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford, MA.
Doris was a proud lifelong resident of Dunstable.
She is survived by her sons, Clifton O. LaPorte, Jr. and his partner, Wayne Texeira of Berlin, MA, Gary R. and his wife, Denise LaPorte of Hudson, NH, and Bruce W. and his wife, Laura LaPorte of Madera, CA; a sister, Irene and her husband, Walter Davis of Springhill, FL; a sister-in-law, Marie Dumont of Pepperell, MA; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was the sister of the late Armand, Gerald, Leo, Bernice, Roger, Lionel, and Leonard Dumont all of Dunstable, MA, the late Lorraine Neault and the late Rita Belley.
Visitation will be Wed. 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford, MA 01824. Burial in the Central Cemetery, Dunstable. Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

She was one of my very favorite aunts! I loved staying at her house during school vacation. She was there for me when my parents had the crazy idea to move me from all my friend and roots, in my senior year of high school, from Boston suburbs to the sticks & confinement of Dunstable! Her house was my escape, I always felt welcome and loved, she even taught me to sew. She was the best and her home was also my safe haven. I loved very much and will never forget her and her gentle kindness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Aunt Doris!!
