Dorothy D. Johnson, 64, of Dracut passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital.

She was married to the late Benjamin Johnson, who died on August 28, 2015. She was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She was the daughter of David Chieh of Lowell and the late Comfort Chieh.   She graduated from the University of Liberia with a BS in sociology and Georgetown University with a Masters’ in Demography.

Dorothy worked as a librarian for the city of Lowell. She had previously worked for the Lowell Police Department.

She was a member of the Christ Jubilee International Ministries.

Dorothy came to the US in 1998 and became a proud citizen in 2000.

She enjoyed walking, gardening and watching TV.

Besides her father, she is survived by her sons, Marvin and his wife, Sarah Johnson of Brockton, MA, Benjamin Johnson of Dracut and Arnold Johnson of Dracut; brothers, David and his wife, Anita Chieh of Lowell, Patrick and his wife, Elizabeth Chieh of Lowell, Christopher and his wife, Olivia Chieh of Staten Island, NY, Nehemiah and his wife, Yassah, of NY and Antoinette of Lowell and many nieces and nephews.
