Dr. Ann M. (Manchenton) Lisien, 93, of Seabrook, NH, formerly of Lowell, MA died Sunday December 25, 2016 at the Genesis Langdon Place in Nashua, NH.

She was married to the late Henry S. Lisien who died on August 25, 2000.

Born in Lowell, MA, on Sept. 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward C. and Annie (Denny) Manchenton. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1941, and the Lowell State Teachers College Magna Cum Laude in Education with the class of 1967, and earned her Doctorate in Education from Boston College.

She began her teaching career at the Pine Glenn School in Burlington, MA, and then the Lowell School System and became the Supervisor of the Special Education Program before retiring in 1986.

She was a former communicant of St. Margaret Church and St. Rita Church both of Lowell. While living in Seabrook, NH, she was a former communicant of, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church; where she was an active singer in that church’s choir.

She was a member of Mass. Teachers Assoc., Boston College Alumni Assoc., North Middlesex State Workers Assoc., Seabrook Senior Citizens Club, Seabrook Woman’s Club, the Oasis Club at Exeter Hospital, and volunteered at Anna Jake’s Hospital, in Newburyport, MA, and Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, FL.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands Dr. Ann Marie and George Houghton of Salisbury, MA, and Ruth and Gary Buckley of Lowell, MA; and two sons and their wives, Henry C. and Cheryl Lisien of Lowell, MA, and John and Jean Lisien of Hampstead, NH; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Lisien-Juliano and her husband, Jim Juliano of Niantic, CT; a sister in-law, Claudette Manchenton of Lowell, MA; eleven grandchildren, George, Maria, and Daniel Houghton, Dr. Tara Rubinas and her husband, Peter, Brad Lisien and his wife, Leanne, Dr. Michael Lisien and his wife, Laura, Julie Szczypkawski and her husband, Tom, Kirk Buckley, Kara Buckley and her husband, Sean Hammond, Heather Laine and her husband, Joshua, and Zachary Lisien of Hampstead, NH, and eleven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Dr. Leonard M. Lisien who died May 11, 1999 of Portland, CT, and was the sister of the late Daniel, John, Edward, and Bill Manchenton.

Visiting hours Thurs. 4 to 8 PM. Funeral Fri. at 9AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 10AM at St. Margaret’s Church, 374 Stevens St. Lowell, MA .
