Edward A. Souza Jr., 72, of Lowell, MA died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Edward and Frances Souza. He graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1962.
Edward worked as a project manager for the City of Lowell retiring in 2006. He owned and operated Certified Welding Services of Lowell for over 20 years.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret Church.
Edward was a Mason and a member of the William North Lodge A.F. & A.M. He served as Chairman and member of the Board of Appeals for several years.
He enjoyed boating and horse racing and was a proud lifelong resident of Lowell.
He is survived by two sons, Edward Souza of Cambridge and Daniel Souza of Lowell; three daughters, Karen and her husband, Michael Mercuri of Lowell, Erika Souza of Lowell and Kerrianne Souza of Lowell; four brothers, John “Jack” and his wife, Carol Souza of Chelmsford, Robert and his wife, Donna Souza of Lowell, Kevin Souza of Napa Valley, CA and Brian Dolan and his wife, Jackie of Lowell; sister, Janet Dunlap of Delray Beach, FL; eight grandchildren with the oldest being Kaleigh Brothers and many nieces and nephews.
