Edward Patrick Kelley Sr. of Windham, NH formerly of Manchester Street in Lowell, MA died Nov. 1, 2017 at the High Point Hospice House in Haverhill after a long illness.
He was married to Barbara (Howell) Kelley with whom he celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on April 30th.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Andrew and Lauretta Kelley. He graduated from Lowell High School, graduating with the Class of 1950.
During the Korean War, Ed served in the US Army attaining the rank of Corporal.
Ed worked as a mechanic for the Lowell Housing Authority for many years.
He was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Parish. He was a member of the American Legion of Lowell. He enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, woodworking and swimming with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward Kelley Jr of Nashua, NH and Andrew Kelley and his wife Cynthia of Winchester, MA; a daughter, Laurie Silk and her husband David of Pelham, NH; Sister in-law and her husband, Carolyn and James Winters of York, ME; five grandchildren, Patrick, Jack and Meghan Silk, Molly and Madison Kelley; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, the late Andrew Kelley of Framingham who died 1992 and sister, the late Eleanor Kelley of Lowell who died 2011.
Visitation Sat. 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. Just wanted to let you all know we send our deepest sympathies for your loss. “Bump Bump” was one in a million. He will be missed dearly but know that he is in a better place without pain or suffering. Thank you for teaching your children to be such amazing individuals. Your legacy lives on through each of them. Barbara know you are deeply loved and will be prayed for daily as you begin this new chapter of life.
