Edward Stephen Lyons, 84, of Chelmsford, MA, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
He was married to Suzanne M. (Hardy) Lyons with whom he had recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on September 25th.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Thomas F. Lyons and the late Kathryn (Folan) Lyons.
Raised in Woburn, MA, Edward graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1956. He received an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering from Wentworth College in 1962.
He worked as a dedicated employee for Perini Corporation and Roads Construction and retired in 2002.
Edward lived in Chelmsford for over 44 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed watching the many Boston sports teams.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Edward S. Lyons, Jr. and his wife Courtney of Towson, MD; his daughters Ellen Murphy and her husband Edward of Chelmsford, MA, Pamela Richards and her husband Brian of Chelmsford, MA, Michelle Lyons Nutter and her husband Kenneth of Chelmsford, MA; and his nine grandchildren, Madison, Jack, and Liam Richards; Mallory and Kathryn Murphy; Jake Lyons; and Kendall, Lindsay, and Cole Nutter.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Ellen Martin of Woburn, MA, Mary Rock of Bloomfield, NJ, and sister-in-law of Ellen D. Hardy of Woburn, MA.
Visiting hours Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4-7PM at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, N. CHELMSFORD, MA. Funeral Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, N.
