Elizabeth “Saunie” Boland, 76, of Westford, MA died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
She was the wife of Richard D. Boland with whom she would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 10th.
Born in Lawrence, MA on August 4, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Crowley) Saunders. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro with the Class of 1958. She earned her cap from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and graduated Boston University as a Nurse Anesthetist.
A longtime resident of Westford, Saunie retired from Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She previously worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell.
She was communicant of St. Catherine Church in Westford.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Timothy Boland and his wife Stephanie of Westford; her daughter, Julie Ferguson of Chelmsford; six grandchildren, Ian and Connor Ferguson, Cameryn, Andrew, Ryan and Tyler Boland; a sister in-law, Nancy Crocker of Westford, MA.

Expressions of sympathy for the death of your loved one. Death’s pains are hard, heavy and sad days are ahead…( Job 10:1). At the end of a tunnel there is always light. That light is from our creator. Isaiah 25:8, points to the removal of death forever. Revelation 21:3-4 says.. “No more death”. Psalm 37: 9-11 gives us a different hope, notice righteous mankind including those who have died will live on a restored and peaceful earth. So behold a bright and beautiful light at the end of the tunnel!
