A caring mother and grandmother has passed on.  Evangeline “Vangie” Manolopoulos, 101, of Lowell, MA, died peacefully and in grace surrounded by her loving family.

She was the widow of Stephen Manolopoulos, sharing a beautiful life together before his death in 1997.

Vangie was the daughter of the late Rena (Tsimettas) and Marty Manolaras.

A graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1938, she received her Associate Degree from Lowell Commercial College. Vangie held positions of Administrative Secretary at CBS-Hytron, and Executive Secretary at Raytheon Headquarters in Bedford, MA.

Vangie and her husband were owners of a second home at Golden Lakes, West Palm Beach, FL, enjoying many winters there.

She was a member of the Transfiguration Church, the Ladies Philoptochos Society, the Ladies Auxiliary Post 4141 VFW, Delray Beach, Florida, and the United Commercial Travelers of America.

Her joyful personality and laughter will be dearly missed.

Vangie is survived by two caring and devoted sons, Emanuel (Manny) and his wife Christina Marie, and William (Bill) and his wife Gerri Lynn, all of Westford; two priceless and beloved grandchildren, Marissa Christina of Lowell, and William Stephen of Westford, and a niece, Joan Lagoulis, who resides in Florida. She is predeceased by two brothers, Emanuel and Anthony Manolaras.

A heartfelt thank you and deep appreciation for dear friends Connie and Nicholas Diamantopoulos and Nancy Hardy, as well as two wonderful neighbors, Robert Grillo and Richard Lamoureaux for all their kindness.

It being Vangie’s wish, there will be no visitation. Her funeral will be held from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, CHELMSFORD, on Friday at 8:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell, at 9:30 AM.  Burial in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
