Gerald “Gerry” H. Wilde, 76, of Lowell died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home.
He was married to Barbara Wilde with whom he celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on October 7, 2016.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Wilde. He graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1959.
Gerald worked as a custodian for the Lowell Public Schools, retiring in 2006. He had previously worked for the City of Lowell Department of Public Works. In his early years, he worked at GE in Lowell.
He was a member of the Lowell Sportsman Club.
Gerald enjoyed collecting antiques and gardening.
Besides his wife he is survived by his twin brother, Roger W. Wilde of Chelmsford, sister, Janet Guild of FL; sister-in-law, Marjorie Wilde of Baltimore, MD and nieces and nephews, Lisa Foley, Jamie Lewis, Heidi Spirdione, Michael Wilde, Julie Wilde, Tracy Charbonneau, Elizabeth Nason, Douglas Guild, Jeannie Guild and Raymond T. Wilde.
He was the brother of the late Donald Wilde.
Visiting hours Sun. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Service Mon. at 10A.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell. Don’t even have the words to express my sadness over your loss. Roger, I am sure a piece of you went with him, Barbara you were the absolute love of his life and will always have his heart. So very very sorry for your loss. I will feel this loss myself. I will always have the glass basket he gave me to remember him by filled with his favorite treats on my station at work. And to the niece and nephew who have always been there for Gerry and Barbara and continue to be there for Barbara, he was very appreciative and trusting of you both. I’m sure it gave him comfort to know Barbara would be taken care of. I was only his hairdresser but I feel like I lost a uncle and will miss his words of wisdom.
