5602 Doctor1Gev Sorab Doctor MD, 62, a retired anesthesiologist passed away peacefully from a heart attack on Friday August 14, 2015 at his home.

Gev was born in Surat, India on October 2, 1952, and was the son of the late Sorab and Piroja Doctor. He was raised and educated in India. He came to the United States in 1976. He completed his Residency at the Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY; where he met and married his wife, Maria (DePietro) Doctor in 1981. He worked as an Anesthesiologist at Lowell Anesthesiology Service until his retirement. He had been associated with Holy Family Hospital in Methuen as well as St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell, MA.

Gev was a passionate sports fan and enjoyed playing tennis as well as running. He was an avid reader. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Bobby Doctor and his fiancé, Katie Schmidt of New York City, NY; two daughters, Amy Covey and her husband Tom of Windham, NH and Danielle Doctor of Lowell, MA; two sisters and their husbands, Dr. Perin Thavaseelan and her husband, Dr. Dorairaju Thavaseelan of Andover, MA, Mehru Dubash and her husband Darius of Montville, NJ; two grandchildren, Luca and Eli Covey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Aria Covey.

Private services were held Saturday evening at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA. Private Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Methuen, MA. For those that wish Memorials may be made in his name to the Aria Covey Foundation at 5 Cricket Ridge Dr. Windham, NH 03087. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN
