Hope Eleanor (Fielding) Lawrence of Chelmsford

Hope Eleanor (Fielding) Lawrence of Chelmsford, died April 16, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital.  She was married to the late Roaby Lawrence who died in 1989.  She was born in Lowell on January 21, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Adams) Fielding.  She graduated Chelmsford High School in 1937.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Education at Lowell State Teachers College in 1941.

Hope retired in 1983 from Lowell Public Schools where she taught second grade.

She was a Member of Matthews Memorial Primitive Methodist Church in E. Chelmsford, the Middlesex Women’s Club and The Beacon Lights Choir.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed travelling, and spending summers at Hampton Beach.  She loved the Boston Red Sox and the Celtics.

Hope is survived by her Daughter and Son in law; Linda Popovac of Jaffrey and Walpole, NH and Robert Popovac of Walpole, NH  Two sons Thomas and Richard Lawrence both of Chelmsford, one grandchild Aimee Lawrence, two step grandchildren Sarah and Eric Thurston.  Hope was predeceased by her son Harry Lawrence of Chelmsford, and her daughter in law Denise Lawrence of Albuquerque, NM.

Visiting hours Tues. 4 to 7 P.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. Funeral service Wed. at 11AM at Matthews Memorial Primitive Methodist Church 128 Gorham St., Chelmsford.
