Irene E. (de Araujo) Miller, 95, of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, MA died Monday, January 2, 2017 at The Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton.
She was married to late the Thomas J. Miller, who died in April of 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Osario Alves and Leonor de Araujo. She graduated from Lowell High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Girl Officers with the class of 1940. Irene earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from the Bradshaw Business School of Lowell.
Irene was the founder and owner of the ABC Kindergarten in Chelmsford.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Miller and his wife, Susan Riney-Miller of Concord, MA; daughter, Eleanor and her husband, Dale Jaffe of S. Burlington, VT; four cherished grandchildren, Samantha Jaffe of Chicago, JM Jaffe of Berkeley, CA, Benjamin Miller of New Haven, CT and Samuel Miller of Medford, MA; many nieces, nephews and cousins and several close family friends.
Irene was predeceased by her brother, Franklin de Araujo of Lowell.
There are no Visiting hours. Funeral Sat. Jan. 14th at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9A.M. at St. Mary’s Church. Burial in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Westford. Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

Mrs. Miller was the best boss to work for. You were not an employee but someone she cared about and watched over even after leaving her much loved ABC. Sincere condolences to the Miller Family. You will be kept in my prayerful thoughts.
