Irene was one the wisest, kindest and funniest persons I have ever had the good fortune to know. She knew so many songs, could recite poems from memory, catch every wrong card played in a hand and dole out compassion and quips in equal doses. It is sometimes said that someone has a “twinkle in their eyes” and that description was so true of Irene. She found a way to lift spirits and one bit of wisdom she shared with me : Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair: You can do it all you wish but it won’t get you anywhere. My condolences to Irene’s family and those who loved her.
