James D. Ringwood Sr. of N. Chelmsford, MA

James D. Ringwood Sr., 88, longtime resident of North Chelmsford died Monday, December 8, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was married to Mary (Cortez) Ringwood with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on August 24th.
Born in Lowell, on October 31, 1926, Jim was the son of the late Geoffrey and Grace Ringwood. He graduated from Keith Academy with the Class of 1944.
Jim worked as a printer with Picken Printing, Inc. in N. Chelmsford for many years. Previously, he worked at Offset Printing, Inc. of Lowell.
Jim was a member of the local singing group, the “Vocalaires”, which performed regularly on Lawrence’s WLAW Radio and won many awards including grand prize at the North Shore Music Festival in 1950. He was also an avid racing and automotive fan.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his son and daughter in-law, James, Jr. and Ann Ringwood of Lowell; his daughter and son in-law, Susan and James E. Clancy III of Chelmsford; five grandchildren, James E. Clancy IV and his wife, Christine, Michael Clancy and his wife, Kara, Kathryn, Matthew, and John Clancy; and three sisters, Ruth Roach of Chelmsford, Victoria McNally of Chelmsford, and Mary Perez of Lowell.
He was predeceased by his sister, Grace Murphy of Lowell.
