Jane Patricia (Stevens) Varley, 79, longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA died Monday, January 21 at D’Youville Senior Center.
She was married to the late Herbert Varley, who died on May 13, 1996.
Born in Malden, MA she was the daughter of the late James and Agnes (Champney) Stevens. She graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1958. She graduated from the Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing in 1960 as a Registered Nurse.
She stayed home and raised her family and loved her role as Herb’s Chief Party Officer.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Varley and her husband, Daniel Barrett of North Chelmsford, Lynne and her husband, David Glockling of Litchfield, NH; grandchildren, Daniel, Michael and Dorrie Varley-Barrett, Steven and Nicholas Glockling; sister Doris and her husband, Gerald Harvey of W. Yarmouth, MA; sister in law, Marie Varley Gillis and her husband Chester Gillis of Wilmington, NC; brothers in law, Paul Varley of Marco Island, FL, Joseph Rogers of
Peabody, MA, and Raymond Elliott of Leeds, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Robert Stevens, Claire Elliott and Ethel Rogers and the companion of the late Edward Connolly.
There will be a celebration of Herb and Jane’s lives on Feb 16th from 2-6pm at Susan’s and Dan’s home. In lieu of flowers or donations please raise a toast in Herb and Jane’s memory. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041. Guestbook at www.dolanfuneralhome.com
