Janet Gail Melvin of Billerica, MA

Janet Melvin, 83, of Billerica, MA died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, May 25, 2024 at home.

She was married to the late Frank S. Melvin Sr.

Born in Winchester, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Cantrell and Ruth (Draffin) Cantrell.

She graduated from Woburn High School, Woburn, with the class of 1959.

Janet retired in 2006 from Continental Resources of Bedford, MA after 35 years.

Janet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her sons Frank, Jr. and his wife Michele Melvin of North Chelmsford, MA, Scott and his wife Dorothy Melvin of Billerica, MA, Todd and his wife Christine Melvin of Billerica, MA. Her daughters Ruth and her husband Kevin Antonucci of Fryeburg, ME, Melissa and her husband Arthur Alexander of Billerica, MA. Her brother William and his wife Phyllis Cantrell of Murphy, NC, her sister Karen and her husband William Macdermod of Umatilla, FL, her step-brother John Cantrell of Reading, MA, and her step-sisters Lisa and her husband David Grammar of Woburn, MA, Debbie Cantrell of Woburn, MA, as well as thirteen grandchildren, seventeen greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Michael Melvin of Billerica, and sister to the late James Cantrell, Jackie Lindsay of Tewksbury, and Sonny Collette of Amella, VA.
