Joan C. (Alfano) Berys, 85, of Chelmsford died surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to Peter Berys, with whom she would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Alfano. She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1950.
Joan was a devoted wife and mother. She was a proud resident of Chelmsford for over fifty years. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, MA. Joan was a member of the Brookline Bird Club. She enjoyed walking, observing nature, and cooking. Joan had a green thumb growing her house plants. She had previously worked at Dr. Courant D.M.D. office in Chelmsford and Raytheon in Andover and Lowell.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Cezanne and her husband, Paul of Keene, NH, and three sisters-in-law, Virginia Karas and her husband Nicholas of Tewksbury, Rosanna Alfano also of Tewksbury MA, and Mary Alfano of Holyoke, MA. . She was the sister of the late Arthur Alfano and Joseph Alfano, and the late Rita Huffman.
Visiting hours Tues. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Wed. at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church. I just learned of Joan’s passing. I am sorry for your loss. With all of her medical problems her living 85 years was a gift. I hope you are doing as well as can be expected.
