John Ayres Dunn, 58, of Westford, MA, formerly of Providence, RI, died peacefully on November 20, 2022, after a long illness. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Richard A. Dunn and Anne (Tremontozzi) Dunn.
John made countless lasting friendships throughout his life, many of whom were from high school and college. John loved the silly and absurd, and his sense of humor constantly amused his friends. He graduated from Moses Brown School in Providence, RI in 1982. He later graduated from the University of Vermont (UVM) with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. While at UVM, John was a member of the Delta Psi Fraternity, and after graduation he was instrumental in founding the annual Delta Psi reunion, “Trip to Nowhere,” now in its 34th year.
John worked for Dun & Bradstreet in Providence. Later, he worked as an account executive for Aerotek in the San Jose and Atlanta offices and helped to open offices in London, England and Edinburgh, Scotland. John also worked for Andersen Consulting in Dusseldorf, Germany.
In his youth, John enjoyed playing baseball and swimming. A lifelong sports fan, he had a passion for the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Ravens.
Throughout his illness, John showed a remarkable ability to maintain a positive attitude in the face of a progressive disease. John’s family is grateful to his home health aides Maureen and Goldie Kurapa, and Jessica Dias for caring for him with dignity, respect, friendship, and laughter.
John is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joanna and Richard Pagliaro of Westford, MA; his uncle, Harry King of Buffalo, NY; his cousins, Wendy King of Buffalo, NY, David King of Los Angeles, CA, as well as other cousins.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at First Parish Church United (on the Common), 48 Main Street, Westford, MA.
