John F. Rogers, 52, passed away Sunday morning in the loving arms of his mother Ruth after losing a hard fought battle with lymphoma.
He was born on December 20, 1965, the son of Ruth Rogers of Dunstable, MA and the late John Rogers Jr.
John will always be remembered for his sweet personality and love of life. He loved Nascar, Elvis and anything Boston Bruins, especially when it came to Ray Bourque or the captain Zdeno Chara. John also had a passion for the Dunstable Police and Fire Departments as well as trains and models. John was the master of anything puzzles.
He worked at Red Roof Inn of Nashua, NH and Westford Regency of Westford, MA. He attended Lifelinks of Chelmsford, MA.
John also had a love of volleyball and basketball which is played fiercely with his R.A.R.A and S.T.E.P. group buddies. He was a gold medalist in both these sports in the Special Olympics numerous times. He was a champion in so many ways and will be remembered forever for his ever present positive spirit.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Barbara and her husband, Evans Schrader Jr. of Pepperell, MA, and Pamela and her husband, Rodney Stedman of Mason, NH, a brother, Stephen Rogers of Dunstable, MA, and a sister-in-law, Sandra Rogers of Brentwood, NH. He will also be extremely missed by his numerous nieces, nephews and large extended family.
He was the brother of the late James Rogers and the late Linda Daoust, and the brother-in-law to the late Marygrace Rogers and the late John Daoust.
His visiting hours are TODAY (Tues.) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD. A graveside service will be Wed. at 11 am in Central Cemetery, Dunstable with burial to follow.
