John “Jack” F. Manning, 86, of Tyngsboro died Monday, January 9, 2023 at Whidden Hospital in Everett.

He was married to Marilyn E. (Stevens) Manning with whom he would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2023.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late John and Esther Manning. He graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1954.

Jack proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He retired from the Lowell Post Office in 2000. He had previously worked for Merrimack Optical in Pelham, NH.

Jack was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Tyngsboro. He was a proud long-time resident of Tyngsboro.  There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family, long drives with his wife, traveling to see his grandchildren’s sporting events, and of course his car.  A man of few words, lots of smiles, and a ton of pride in his family, he was the official photographer, videographer for all family gatherings.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his five sons, John “Jack” and his wife, Martha Manning of Dunstable, MA Steven and his wife, Dawn Manning of Tyngsboro, MA, Thomas and his wife, Claudine Manning of Nashua, NH, Gregg and his wife, Jill Manning of Amherst, NH and Corey and his wife, Karen Manning of Norwood MA; three daughters, Darlene O’Hare of Tyngsboro, Traci and her husband, Mark Cohen of Hudson, NH and Sheri and her husband, Claudio Mateo of Tyngsboro; 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Ronald Manning, Joseph Manning and Maureen Reilly, and father-in-law, of the late Cynthia Manning of Tyngsboro, MA.

Jack’s visiting hours will be Sun. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Mon at 9:30AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 10:30AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Tyngsboro. Burial in Memorial Cemetery, Tyngsboro.
