Joseph F. Lynch, 83, of West Chelmsford, MA, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH.
He was married to Claire (Belanger) Lynch with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on June 24.
Born in Lowell, MA, on July 5, 1934, the son of the late Joseph L. and Mary Margaret (Brick) Lynch. He received his education in the Lowell School System.
Over the years, he was employed at the family owned business, Lynch Wallpaper & Paint Store of Lowell, St. Patrick’s Cemetery of Lowell, Raytheon of Andover, MA, and was a call fire fighter before becoming a full time fire fighter with the Chelmsford Fire Dept. for over 21 years until an injury forced his retirement in 1984.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, and St. Margaret Church.
He was a Life Member of the following organizations: Chelmsford Lodged of Elk’s Lodge # 2310 of Chelmsford, H.E. Fletcher Social & Athletic Club, and Stony Brook Fish & Game Assoc. both of Westford, and was a member of the Old Scout’s Assoc.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter MaryAnn and her husband Gene Silva of North Chelmsford, MA, three sons Michael and his wife Maryrita (Secor) Ryan, Michael J. Lynch of N. Chelmsford, and Kevin F. and his wife, Diane Lynch of Tyngsboro, MA; two sisters Mary E. O’Neil of Lowell, MA, and Nancy and her husband Major Retired Joseph Shaute of GA, and a sister-in-law Yvette Bourget of Brown Mills, NJ; eight grandchildren Michael Ryan, Timothy Ryan, Michael Lynch and his fiancé, Julie Whitney, Kayla and her husband, Corey Guarino, Sean Patrick Lynch, Erin Lynch, David Silva, and Stacey Silva and her fiancé, Chase Suddarth; three great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Keanna and Mackenzie and several nieces and nephews.
He is loved, cherished and be missed by all.
Visiting hours Fri. 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Sat. at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church.
