Katherine B. (Mollaha
n) Galvin, 85, of Chelmsford formerly of Tewksbury died surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late Joseph Galvin who died on December 29, 1996.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Mollahan. She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1950.
Katherine was the branch manager for the Commercial Bank & Trust in Wilmington, retiring in 1995. In her early years she worked for the Courier Citizen Corporation of Lowell, where she met her husband.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church.
Katherine’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a proud resident of Chelmsford for twenty years.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Galvin of Beverly, MA and John D. and his wife, Christine Galvin of Methuen; daughters, Pamela Galvin of Dracut, Judy and her husband, Jeff Chartier of Andover and Kathy Neylon of Chelmsford; former son-in-law, Frank Neylon of Lowell; grandchildren, Jen Galvin, Matt Galvin, Joseph F. Galvin, John D. Galvin, John Chartier, Joe Chartier, Jess Chartier, Joey Neylon and Meghan Neylon and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Mollahan.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary Church in Chelmsford. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA. Memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

I will miss Kaye—Sunday afternoon dinners at different restaurants, the exchanging of memories growing up in the WW2 years
and the post war era. Most of all I’ll miss her friendship. May she rest in peace with God whom she served so well.

I will miss Kaye—our Sunday afternoon dinners at interesting restaurants, sharing the memories of living as kids during the WW2 years without a care in the world while the adults were dealing with rationing and praying for the return of their loved ones, and later sharing the joys of marriage and raising our own families. It is comforting to all of us to know that she is resting now with God whom she served so well—and that she is reunited with her beloved Joe.

I was so sorry to read about Kaye’s passing. We were good friends for years and worked together at the Commercial Bank in Wilmington. I had just received our yearly Christmas card and had no idea she wasn’t well. She had a beautiful heart and was so friendly and nice to all.
