Katherine Theresa (Robinson) O’Dowd, 82, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Saturday September 30, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was married for 41years to the love of her life, John F. O’Dowd, who predeceased her on June 13, 1994.
Katherine was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to the late William and Catherine (Reilly) Robinson. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Keith Hall with the class of 1952.
Her main focus in her life was her family and many friends who were fortunate enough to benefit from her companionship, her true role as confidant, sense of humor and strong faith.
She enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox and attending Grandchildren’s social and athletic events.
Katherine retired from Honeywell /Bull of Lawrence MA in 1995. She had an active retirement with travel, family functions and crocheting afghans for all. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Lowell, MA for most of her life, more recently the Immaculate Conception Church. Socially she was a member of the Sacred Heart Seniors. She enjoyed bowling in the Senior League at Brunswick Lanes.
She is survived by her daughters, Jolane and her husband, James Roy Sr. of Londonderry, NH, Karen and her husband, Michael Farnum of Tewksbury, Mary Lou and her husband, John McCarthy of Methuen and Katherine O’Dowd and her companion, Richard Schultz of Lowell.
Also surviving her are her sisters, Margaret “Peg” McKennedy of Lowell, and Rita Waite of Lowell. Thirteen grandchildren, Mary Triolo , James Roy Jr. and his wife Ariana, John Roy, Craig Roy, Michael Farnum and his wife Kasia, Patrick Farnum and his significant other Jennifer Ouellette, Brian Farnum and his wife Kerry, Kristen Parent and her husband Patrick, Laura McCarthy, Meredith McCarthy, Matthew O’Dowd, Michael Ouellette, and Matthew Ouellette. Thirteen greatgrandchildren, many who fondly called her “Nana O”, Janelle, Emaly, Isabella, Corynne, Connor, Karolina, Grace, Rose, Brandt, Katherine, Ava, Mia, and Charlotte, her Godchild Celeste Bedard of Dracut, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late William and James Robinson, and mother-in-law of the late Stephen Ouellette of Lowell.
Visiting hours Tuesday 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Wednesday at 9AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 10AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. ARRANGEMENTS BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

i am so sorry to hear about Terry’s passing. She was a wonderful friend to my mother and I enjoyed her company on our trips. I will always remember her with much affection and love. I feel terrible about missing her services as I have just read about this now. She was truly the best. She will always be in my thoughts and prayers .
