Kristy Williams, 34, of Lowell, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She was surrounded by her fiancé and family following her courageous 12 year battle with brain cancer.

Kristy was born in Lowell to Daniel and Gail (Dumond) Williams, who was her best friend.  This past September, she became engaged to her soulmate and love of her life, Declan Regan of Lowell.

Kristy attended the Immaculate Conception School in Lowell and proceeded to Lowell Catholic High School, where she excelled academically and athletically as a standout cheerleader and soccer player.  She graduated from Lowell Catholic with the Class of 2005 and continued on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Rhode Island.  Kristy formed an incredible amount of lifelong friendships with people she met at all three levels of education and left an indelible mark on each of these communities.

Upon graduating from Nursing School, Kristy obtained a job as a Registered Nurse at the Main Campus of Lowell General Hospital.  Kristy possessed an incomparable level of compassion for each patient that she treated.  She was recognized for her patience, tireless work-ethic, and uncanny ability to listen to her patients and appropriately address their needs.  Although she began her nursing career before being diagnosed with brain cancer, she would eventually volunteer at the hospital to serve as a source of inspiration for individuals who were being treated for similar conditions.

Among her favorite activities were shopping, traveling, visiting the beach, and relaxing with her beloved dog, Penny.  Above all, Kristy cherished spending time with her family, her fiancé, and her many, many friends.  The term “social butterfly” does not do her justice.  She was always the life of the party, and she was never satisfied until everyone was having fun.  Her glowing smile and infectious laugh were contagious, and she was unforgettable to everyone who met her.

Despite being afflicted with a horrific illness, Kristy never allowed a cancer diagnosis to define her.  She was always a “cancer survivor” and was a remarkable fighter.  She never once complained and accomplished more than anyone could imagine in 34 years on this earth.  Kristy was truly a one in a million person, and she will be immensely missed. However, her memories will forever live on in the hearts and minds of anyone who knew her.  She was an angel who was too good for this world and has now been relieved of her suffering.  Never stop sharing your stories of Kristy and remember her whenever you see a rainbow or a sunflower. May she rest in peace.

Besides her parents and fiancé, Kristy is survived by her brother, Patrick Williams, and his wife Rachel of Chelmsford; their children, Avery and Sean whom she spoiled greatly and loved dearly; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents: Paul and Patricia Williams, her maternal grandparents Lloyd and Louella Dumond, and her uncle Richard Williams.

Kristy’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the team of doctors and nurses at Mass General Hospital for their efforts over the last 12 years

Visiting hours will be Friday November 5, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. to 7.00 PM. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. I had the great pleasure to teach and work with Kristy in both her New Grad Program and as a fellow nurse at LGH. Kristy was always eager to help and her smile could light up the darkest of rooms. Kristy was truly a unique and beautiful young lady who will be dearly missed. The world was better for having Kristy in it but heaven is blessed to have gained such an amazing angel. Kristy, may you rest in Gods most glorious peace. ? ? ❤️??
My deepest sympathies to Kristy’s fiancé Declan, Family and friends. Maureen Daly

Kristy was a friend to everyone she came across, even if she only saw them once for five minutes – she remembered their name. Kristy and I connected a few times after highschool and I had the fortunate experience of having her as one of my nurses for the birth of my child and again during one of the scariest moments where I thought my life was over….when I told her how scared I was….she reassured me and just chatted with me about my kids. I’m forever grateful for the graciousness she showed to block out the fear. Her presence is gone but I’m certain her grace is still here blocking fear for all those she loved.

Kristy is an example of what we should all strive to be. Loving, positive, kind, to name a few. Epitome of what a person should be. May God bless her fiancé, parents, brother, extended family and close friends. May he guide them through these tough moments and life without her beside them. I am sure she will continue to shine her light upon them. Rest In Peace Kristy ???

I was blessed to work at Lowell General when Kristy worked there the first time she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She used to tell me she was having sinus problems. It turned out it was brain CA and I’ve NEVER SEEN AN ANGLE BEFORE but she was and is now. She’s gone home and I’m happy for her but I’m devastated for our loss. I’ve met her mummy and she’s the same as kristy. Best people I’ve ever met. Condolences and ❤️ LOVE. I’m SURE her Spirit will remain with all who remember and loved her. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND YOURS??????❤️?

I had the honor of coaching Kristy in soccer at Lowel Catholic along with Mister C. She was always the first to say hi to the new girls and to greet the players on the other team. She was so fierce on the field, but she always made sure anyone that went down was good and not hurt. I am beyond heartbroken to hear of her passing but she truly was too good for this world. Fly high beautiful angel girl. I cannot even imagine the loss felt by your family. Sending love and prayers.
