Lucille Louise (Gaudette) Day, 96, of North Chelmsford, MA died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her home surrounded and comforted by her loving family and dedicated caregivers.
Born in North Chelmsford on August 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Justine Gaudette. A lifelong resident of North Chelmsford, she was educated in Chelmsford schools and graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1941.
Lucille married the late Lawrence W. Day on July 12, 1942 and celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage until his death in April of 1987.
She was a longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of North Chelmsford, MA. and she was also a member of Chelmsford Senior Center.
Prior to retirement, she was employed at Phaneuf Press of Billerica and Picken Printing of North Chelmsford.
Some of her many interests included duck pin bowling, music, line dancing, swimming and skating on Crystal Lake and playing bingo for many years at the church parish.
She is survived by her son, James and wife Robin Day of Tyngsboro, two daughters, Martha Ondus of Manchester, NH and Kathleen and her husband, Rick Kinney of North Chelmsford, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille was the mother of the late Lawrence L. Day of North Chelmsford who died August 6, 2007. She was the sister of the late Irene Fournier, Eleanor “Girlie” Smolander, Albert, Leonard, and Francis Gaudette. She was also predeceased by two grandsons.
The family would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to her many caregivers and thoughtful neighbors for their compassion and help throughout the years.
Visiting hours Mon. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Tues. at 10:00 from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11:00 at St John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford.
