Marilyn M. (Molloy) Dostaler, 86, beloved wife of Avit “Bob” Dostaler for more than 58 years, formerly of Chelmsford, died in her home in Northampton, MA on April 18, 2017 surrounded in body and spirit by her family.

Forever to be remembered for her kindness, her love of children and her unwavering faith, in addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by her devoted children, Robert Dostaler of Bennington, NH, Marilou Brown of Appleton, WI, Corrie Tamburro of Northampton, MA and Kristina Germano of Rindge, NH, her sons in law, Glenn Brown, Patrick Tamburro and John Germano and eight adoring grandchildren, Nicholas, Robert and Nathaniel Dostaler, Chelsey and Laney Brown and Jake, Ben and Lily Germano. She also leaves behind her sisters; Virginia Cooney, June Smith and Janice Paige, her brother and sister in law, Forrest and Carolyn Dostaler and sister in law Janice Molloy along with many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Marilyn is predeceased by her sister, Patricia Monahan, and brother, Martin “Sonny” Molloy and her parents, Martin A. and M. Rhona (Lamontagne) Molloy.

After graduating Lowell High School in 1948, she went on to graduate from Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Retiring from Tewksbury State Hospital in 1993, she spent her entire professional and personal life caring for others with her gentle heart. Anyone who received one of her loving embraces was always left with a sense of peace and well-being.

Marilyn saw the inherent goodness in everyone and was always available to anyone looking for a listening ear, compassionate advice or a comforting hug. She opened her home and heart to all. Her patience, kindness and sense of humor extended to beings of the four legged variety as well. It was not unusual to see her alongside Bob, caring for the many animals brought home or even chasing escaped farm animals throughout the neighborhood.

Her favorite place to be was with her family. The energetic, loving mayhem of being surrounded by her children and grandchildren always brought a smile to her face and so much laughter.

Marilyn’s love was unconditional and without judgment. Her faithful prayers to the Blessed Mother to watch over us all did not go unanswered. She will be profoundly missed.

Family and friends are welcome to celebrate her life at a Mass at St. Rita’s Church, 158 Mammoth Road in Lowell, MA on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11AM. Arrangements by Dolan Funeral Home, North Chelmsford, 978-251-4041. Guestbook at www.dolanfuneralhome.com

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Many have found true comfort in God’s word the Bible Please read 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4. In God’s word we find the promises that we can be reunited with our loved ones (John 5:28,29). The Bible tells us where this happy reunion will take place (Psalm 37:11, 29).
