Marilyn P. (Johnson) Lord, 87, of Dracut formerly of Lowell died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was married to the late David C. Lord, who died in February 18, 2005. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Johnson. She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1948. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker to her family. In her early years, she worked for USCI in Billerica. She was a member of Fellowship Methodist Church in Lowell. Marilyn was an advisor for the Rainbow for Girls. She enjoyed playing Bingo and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by sons, Walter and his wife, Joan Lord of Lowell, David and his wife, Barbara Lord of Dracut and Russell and his wife, Mickey Lord of Hudson, NH; daughters, Paula and her husband, Russell Ripley of Dracut and Gladys Urban and her fiancé, Brian Gross of Lowell; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the mother of the late Richard Lord, Cheryl Shelley and the sister of the late Walter Johnson and grandmother of the late Michael Sylvester. Visiting hours Sun. 1 to 4 P.M. Funeral Mon at 11:00 A.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
