Mary L. (Scobie), (Marchand), Rosnov, 101, passed away Tuesday evening June 19 at her home in Dracut. Mary was raised in East Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High School class of 1934. She married Raymond O. Marchand, having a happy marriage raising three sons in Chelmsford and was widowed in 1961. Mary married Nathan Rosnov in 1974 and had another happy marriage and a great in-law family. Mary and Nate lived in Chelmsford and later in Dracut and wintered in Florida for many years. Mary was widowed again with the passing of Nathan in 2010.

Mary was co-owner of Ray Marchand Oil Company and was the Secretary for the company from 1961 until her retirement in 1982.

Mary will be sadly missed by her son Raymond D. Marchand, Daughter-in Laws Judith Marchand and Jody Marchand, Sister-in-law Eleanor Scobie, step children and spouses Iris Bray, Sondra and John Lucente, Carol and Ted Rosnov, Elaine and Robert Ferrone and Janice and Alan Rosnov.

Mary will also be sadly missed by her many Grand Children, Great Grand Children and Great-Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by two sons Ronald Marchand, Brian Marchand and Grand-daughter Olivia Marchand, Daughter-in-Law Patricia Marchand, Great-Grand-son Chandler Ford, siblings Wallace Scobie, Barbara (Barrelle) Mahoney and Phyllis Kendall.

Mary was fortunate to have the finest 24/7 personal care possible by her granddaughter Cathy Marchand.

Mary particularly enjoyed her Great-Great Grand children most recently. They always brought a smile to her face.

At Mary’s request there will be no wake. Graveside service at 11AM will be held on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

    Ray,Cathy and family,
    I will miss Mary until the day I die. I loved her very much. My Dad sure knew ghat he had and I knew it too. She was very special.There aren’t enough words to describe the person she was . Just know my heart is with you. You will always remain my family.

    The very life of my grandmother Mary was tangible proof that God is real and God is good. She was and will always be the matriarchal symbol of each family she was a part of. Truly the end of an era! She will remain in my heart forever.
