Mary L. (Smith) Dupras, 94 died unexpectedly on Sunday March 14, 2021.

She was married to the late Ernest R. Dupras, who died on June 14, 1989. They were married for 43 years.  Born in Brentwood NH, she was the daughter of the late Vera and Percy Smith.

Mary received her education in the Tyngsborough School System and lived in Tyngsborough the better part of her life, just within the last few years she moved to live with her daughter in Dracut.  Mary worked for over 25 years at Commodore Foods in Lowell until the company moved to Portsmouth NH. She then went on to work at Personal Touch as a Homemaker/Personal Care Aide until she retired.  Mary will be remembered for having a smile for everyone and offering a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  She was an active member of the Woman’s Auxiliary for the Tyngsborough American Legion.  Mary would spend many hours volunteering at numerous Veterans functions.  She loved the beach, reading, being outdoors, and having an occasional Miller Lite, which she would tell you it kept her young.  She lived life to the fullest and did it her way.

Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They all loved it when she would tell them stories of what she would call, “the good old days” they were all amazed of how things were back then.

Mary is survived by her two daughters:  Shirley McGovern of Kissimmee FL, and Dorothea and her husband Richard Bernier of Dracut, MA.

8 Grandchildren: Christine and her husband Matthew Chan of Oregon City, Oregon, Michelle and her husband Marty Michaud of Nashua, NH, Kim Hayes of Chocorua, NH, Ernest Dupras III of Hudson NH, Joanne Conlin of Hudson NH, Richard Bernier and his wife Holly of Dracut MA, Gregory Bernier of Derry NH and Michael Gacek of Dracut MA.

15 Great Grandchildren: Jacob, Corey, Connor, Brady, Mason, Eric, Zachary, Brian, Aiden, Addison, Galin Marisa, Payton, Sophia and Brooklynn.

Mary was predeceased by her Son Ernest Dupras Jr.,   Granddaughter April (Bernier) Savard and Son-In-Law Marty McGovern.

Visiting hours are Tuesday March 23, 2021 from 3-6pm with a service at 6pm at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 Middlesex St. Chelmsford, MA 01863. Dear Shirley and Dottie, It was very sad to read about your Mom. I worked with her on many Wednesday evenings at the Legion serving the Vet’s that came in for their monthly dinners. She was always the “Light” of all the volunteers that showed up to help. Take care, Spencer Riley
