    Hello Duffy Kids
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. I remember her for her wonderful laugh and her fabulous smile. She had a sassy sense of fashion, too, as I seem to remember some seriously mod outfits in the 60’s. I also remember the great times we all had learning to swim and play together while our Mom’s gossiped in their beach chairs (before sunscreen). Remember the sunken haunted boat and having to wait an hour to swim after you ate? And of course PB&J or bologna sandwiches in the days before drive thru McDonalds. If you were hungry they told you to eat an apple.

Remember our joint family trip to the Cape? Was it Donna we wheeled into the hall on her portable bed at the hotel when she fell asleep first? And who can forget the story of the teacher slapping David Russell (Diana was a witness?) because she accidentally wrote on the blackboard with David’s crayon?

I have a picture somewhere of our parents suntanned and smiling together on some beach in Bermuda, in their mid-40s(?). I think that’s how I will remember them all; happy, relaxed and beautiful.

Hope you are all doing well. I’m sure you will be seeing my Mom at the services. Give her a hug for me.

    Love, Jody (Russell) Dobson

Thank you so much for the happy memories! I remember running down the hill to your beach and my mother yelling to us not to go in the water until she got down. Always seemed an odd admonishment from someone who never went into the lake! I do remember Miss Quill slapping David’s hand for the crayon incident, and we still had to go to her wedding! Your mother explaining to David that he had to walk closest to the street in case a car splashed through a puddle, to be sure that I didn’t get wet. I’ll pass a hug to your mom at the services for you. Our parents had lots of happy times!

My condolences to the Duffy family. The Maureen that I knew was a happy and delightful person with a gift for social charisma. The many years we worked together Maureen was a valuable and supportive colleague and fun to be with.
